International Tribunals and Dispute Resolution

The class will be devoted to understanding the role of international tribunals and dispute resolution international system. One of the primary questions in public international law is the question of legitimacy. If the majority of agreements have no mechanism for enforcement, what is the role of "rules" that have no teeth? Sources of tribunal decisions and how to approach research in this area will be examined.
